What To Look For In A Nutritional Supplement
All supplements are not created equal. As mentioned in yesterday’s post, you could be wasting your money on supplements that don’t perform. But even worse yet, the supplements you are putting in to your body could even be dangerous. In an unregulated industry, you need to look for a manufacturer that imposes its own strict standards on the supplements they put on the market.
The manufacturer of any supplement you choose should:
- Adhere to U.S. and Canada Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- These are the standards that pharmaceutical manfacturers are required to adhere to. If your supplement manufacturer adheres to these same standards, you know you are receiving a high-quality product.
- Follow U.S. Pharmacopeia Guidelines
- Following these guidelines means that your supplements are guaranteed to actually dissolve in your stomach!
- Include Nutrients at Optimal Levels
- Following U.S. Recommended Daily Allowance (USRDA) for nutrients (as most leading brands do) will not provide the nutrients you need to prevent degenerative disease. This is because the USRDA is an outdated standard that was created to prevent acute deficiency diseases such as scurvy and rickettes! A truly beneficial supplement will include nutrients at levels optimal for noticeably improving your health.
- Provide Nutrients In Correct Ratios
- All nutrients work together, so if they are not provided in the correct ratios, you may literally be flushing away potential benefits.

Fortunately, you don’t have to do all the research yourself, because it has been done for you. A company called NutriSearch has studied over 1,500 nutritional supplements and rated them. Out of all these, only 4 won NutriSearch’s Gold Medal.
The book is available through Amazon.com:
You can order a copy of the book yourself, or just come back tomorrow! In tomorrow’s post I will share with you the to four Gold Medal winners, and share with you the pros and cons of each, and how you can get them for yourself.
